Did you know that Chai Tea is a delicious blend of cardamom, cloves, cinnamon, ginger and black peppercorns. Sometimes you can find, nutmeg, vanilla, and star anise in the blend as well. The word Chai actually means tea. On a caffeine scale it has a third the amount of caffeine as a cup of coffee. So you can drink Chai all day everyday without worrying about side effects similar to that of drinking coffee. Chai is a great drink not only in flavor but also in health benefits. It has amazing anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial properties, can reduce blood sugar, help with digestion and aid in weight-loss. More recently it has been found to help with skin health too. To enjoy Chai to the fullest it is recommended to boil water in a sauce pan and add in your loose leaf Chai. Add milk and sugar to your preference and once it comes to a boil, lower the heat and let it simmer for five minutes. If you want less milk you can let it boil off more.
